American Homestays
Most ELC students are eager to take advantage of the family homestay opportunity available year-round at all three centers. Along with the chance to improve conversational skills, homestays can create warm friendships that last a lifetime.
Homestay Highlights:
- Boston homestays are available year-round
- Learn about American culture and practice your English
- One student per linguistic background per family
- Arrival on Saturday or Sunday before the course; departure on Saturday after the course
- Choose your meal plan: half board (breakfast and dinner) or breakfast only
- Average commute 35 - 45 minutes, depending on which school location; always within 60 minutes of school by public transportation
- Always a single room unless otherwise requested* (see below)

Residential accommodations are available year-round at ELC Boston. This is an attractive alternative for students who want to live in the heart of downtown Boston, and like the idea of studying, relaxing and making friends from all over the world.

ELC studio apartments provide independent lodging for students who want the privacy of staying in their own apartment. These comfortable apartments are ideal for students wanting to live in the heart of Back Bay, within walking distance of ELC Boston and the many nearby restaurants, cafes and shops.

ESL Townhouse Apartments
The ESL Townhouse Apartments are located in Boston’s Fenway area, a youthful and academic community in the heart of the city. These are shared apartments with single and double rooms, a perfect option for students who want independence and a convenient location at a good price. The Townhouses are walking distance to restaurants, museums, and Fenway Park and a 20-minute commute to ELC by public transportation.Apartments Highlights:
- One large private single room and one large double room (maximum 3 people per apartment)
- Apartments include kitchen, bathroom, common area for dining, full furnishings
- Free wifi internet access and TV in each room, telephone with free local calls
- Laundry room in the building

Suffolk University Dormitory
In July and August, ELC Boston offers additional accommodations at new state-of-the-art residence at Suffolk University. Suffolk University is located in downtown Boston.
Suffolk University Campus Program Highlights:
- Students live in Residence hall and attend classes on campus
- Shared room accommodations
- Free access to its facilities including a recreation center, library, bookstore, and computer terminals with internet access.
- The dormitory has a spacious student lounge with a big screen TV and DVD, and billiards table where students can join together, relax, and have fun.
- Price includes full breakfast
- Optional dinner

*A housing deposit of $150 is required for all homestays as well as for the dormitory and residence in Boston. This fee will be refunded on the condition that no physical damage has been done to the property, all phone bills have been paid, and no payment for accommodations remains due. The housing deposit will also be refunded if you have to cancel a course and have notified ELC at least two weeks prior to the start date.
