On July 13th, ELC Los Angeles hosted its second prom. Eighty students attended the prom with ELC staff and teachers. Prom decorations were placed throughout the entire school on Friday afternoon highlighting our prom theme of, “Under the Stars.”
Activities included dancing, pictures in a photo booth, food, and games. Our prom King, Manuel Windlin campaigned for the position amongst his friends and won the glorious title. Some students asked a date to prom, but many came as friends. When asked about prom, our prom queen, Roxane Welte wrote, “I very liked the Prom! As I arrived I first took a picture with my friends. I was really surprised as Liz called my name for prom queen! I never expected to be the prom queen. Thanks to Team –Japan”
One of the highlights of prom was the professional photo booth – manned by our resident photographer and Foreign Student Advisor, James Benito. When the activities finished at school a group of thirty or so students and the Student Services Coordinator, Liz went to happy hour at Barney’s Beanery in Westwood Village to keep celebrating. We hope a great time was had by all!
